Hi, I’m Greg McCauley, and I’m running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District.
I’m a tax attorney living in Chadds Ford PA with my wife of thirty-three years, Maureen. I have been an active been a member of the Union League of Philadelphia for the past thirty-eight years, as well as the Richmond Cardinals Rugby Club. Maureen and I have four boys—Gregory Jr., Michael, Liam and Aidan—as well as a daughter-in-law, Samantha, and our two dogs, Molly and Flynn.
The next generation of PA 06—which includes my own family—has been my inspiration to run for Congress. I want to restore the American Dream for our kids and our future.
I was born and raised here in southern Pennsylvania. I attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Management and Marketing. I received a Juris Doctorate from Widener University Law School in Wilmington, DE.
My background has given me extensive experience drafting law. After school, I clerked for the Honorable James McGirr Kelly in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of PA. I worked as an associate attorney at Blank, Rome, Comisky & McCauley—my father’s law firm—before I opened my own practice in March 1987. I am admitted to practice before the courts in PA, NY and NJ, and I am a member of the United States Tax Court, US District Court, the US Courts of Appeal for the both the Second and Third Circuit, the PA Bar Association, and various sub-committees.
In addition, I have solid business experience. Over thirty-five years, I built a very successful tax law practice, representing both individuals and small businesses. My family and I owned and operated a chain of Wendy’s restaurants for over twenty years before selling about a decade ago. I was on the team at Quigley that established Cold-Eeze as a national-brand, and I have invested in numerous start-ups and small businesses with similar success stories.
In other words, I am not a career politician. It doesn’t take someone with a political background to see that Washington is dysfunctional, with many issues approaching crisis mode. Opioids, the deficit, the budget, immigration, and student loan debt are just some of the crucial issues we’re facing on both a state and national level. I do not want to simply ‘kick the can’ down the road to future generations of representatives. Instead, I advocate for solving problems as they arise.
We all want a balanced budget, lower taxes, sustainable healthcare options, more jobs, and a strong economy. I will use my vast business experience to solve these complex issues with simple solutions that appeal on a bipartisan level. Together, we can restore the American Dream.
